3 Feel-Good Smoothies

SMOOTHIE OPERATOR

One that’s green, one that’s blue, and one that will make you say ooo!

I love starting the day off with something nice and healthy—and for the past few years smoothies have been my thing (yes, even in the dead of winter sometimes). Packed with antioxidants, superfoods, and protein, there is nothing like reaching for an energy-giving smoothie to jump start my morning. As of lately, I’ve been rotating through these three as my daily go-to’s. It’s such a refreshing and delicious way to start the day!

Green Goodness

The name says it all! Full of healthy greens, tastes good and good for you. Sometimes I like to switch things up and replace mango with pineapple.

WHAT YOU NEED

1 1/2 cups unsweetened almond milk

1 handful of spinach

1 handful of kale (lacinto)

1/2 cup of mango

1 scoop of Multi-Collagen Protein Powder

1 teaspoon of maca

1 tablespoon of chia seeds

6-8 mint leaves (or if you’re like me, one whole stem with leaves on)

juice of 1/2 lime

4 cubes of ice (optional)

WHAT YOU DO

In a blender, combine the almond milk with the chia seeds. Blend for about 2 minutes so the chia seeds can start absorbing the almond milk. Add the remaining ingredients to your blender, blend until smooth and enjoy!

Almond Blueberry

After coming across a variation of this in GP’s new book, I decided to take note and add cauliflower, instead of my usual spinach, to my go-to blueberry smoothie. Turns out she was on to something with cauliflower— it’s flavorless but still high in fiber and vitamins, meaning no compromise on taste. I am obsessed!

WHAT YOU NEED

1 cup of unsweetened almond milk

1/2 cup of wild organic blueberries (fresh or frozen)

1/2 cup of frozen cauliflower

1 tablespoon almond butter

1 tablespoon of flax seeds

1 scoop of Multi-Collagen Protein Powder

1 teaspoon of maca

6-8 mint leaves (or if you’re like me, one whole stem with leaves on)

1 date, pitted or a swirl of date syrup

juice of 1/2 lime

WHAT YOU DO

Add all ingredients to your blender, blend until smooth and enjoy!

Banana Cacao Tahini

You may think the addition of tahini is a bit odd, but trust me. The nuttiness of the tahini and the richness of the cacao mixed with the slight sweetness of date syrup is like dessert in a glass! You can thank me later.

WHAT YOU NEED

1 cup unsweetened almond milk

1 handful of spinach

1 banana

1 tablespoon of flax seeds

1 tablespoon tahini

1 teaspoon cacao powder

1 scoop of Multi-Collagen Protein Powder

1 date, pitted or a swirl of date syrup

4 cubes of ice (optional)

WHAT YOU DO

Add all ingredients to your blender, blend until smooth and enjoy!

(*side note: adding a shot of espresso or two makes for a perfect caffeine jolt)

All smoothie recipes make about one tall glass. I’d love to hear some of your go-to smoothie recipes— Please share if you have a good one!
