The Essentials — Travel Pieces

A few travel essentials to keep everything organized.

With holiday travel upon us, I wanted to share few of my favorite travel bags.

Over the past few years, I’ve done a decent amount of  travel. From plane rides to road trips across the US, it has been a pretty active pace to say the least. So much so that I’ve collected a few travel pieces that make getting from one place to the next much more efficient, elegant, and fun!

As you know, I’m obsessed with my medium MZ Wallace Metro Tote (read more about that here)! Recently, MZ Wallace gifted me the Large Metro Tote and it has been a complete travel game-changer. It has the features I love, such as the 6 interior pockets and zip top closure, along with the addition of three zip pouches—that are so handy to keep those miscellaneous items (hello electronic device chargers) organized. Perfect as a weekender and also small enough to stow away, above or below airplane seats, for longer trips.

First, can I just say that the quality of Cuyana is simply stunning?! Every piece I have of theirs has endured several years of use and still looks new and beautiful. Having dedicated bags for smaller items such as skin care and makeup is a must and their Leather Travel Case Set is perfect. I like to keep oversized toiletries in the large case and the small case designated for makeup. And because they are so gorgeous, I usually have them displayed on my bathroom counter holding my go-to daily products when I’m not traveling. Win-win.

When it comes to luggage, I prefer to carry-on rather than check-in. When you’ve experienced lost luggage more than once, you feel much better knowing it’s in the overhead compartment above you. For some time now, I’ve relied on the The Bigger Carry-On by Away. I originally purchased The Carry-On but upgraded shortly after the release of the larger version as occasionally my travels unexpectedly tend to extend a bit longer and require a few more clothes. Their bags are designed with a durable polycarbonate shell and an interior compression system so everything is kept neat and tidy. And as an added bonus, you have the option to add an ejectable battery that charges your phone—your days of trying to find an airport outlet are over!

Happy Travels!
